Robert F. Renaud

Robert F. Renaud is a trial attorney and municipal lawyer. He has many years of experience in successfully representing clients in complex litigation, in representing local government entities and officials, and in helping individuals and businesses in dealing with government agencies.

Complex Litigation

Mr. Renaud is a trial lawyer, with a proven record of success in a wide variety of litigated matters, including, civil rights, police practices, employment and business disputes, challenges to government action, land use, personal injury, real estate tax appeals, contested estates, property claims and disputes, insurance claims and other complex cases. He has been certified since 1983 by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney, a distinction shared by fewer than 5% of all NJ attorneys.

Local Government Law

Mr. Renaud represents numerous local government entities, including municipalities, counties. boards and other bodies, either as general or special counsel. He has served as municipal attorney and as attorney to planning boards, boards of adjustment, ABC boards and other agencies.

In the local government/municipal field, he has handled hundreds of cases involving planning and zoning board action, claims against police and corrections officers, real property tax appeals, challenges to government actions and laws, forms of government, election contests, affordable housing, discrimination, harassment and whistleblower claims, open public records act, open public meetings act and tort (accident) claims. He has been a frequent lecturer, advising public officials and other attorneys on this specialized area of the law.

Education:

Mr. Renaud was graduated from Rider College (now Rider University) with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He attended Seton Hall University School of Law and received a Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
